Join me to learn a fun, relaxing and intuitive approach to felting and stitching. The workshop will include a short presentation about stitch traditions from Japan and India and the U.S. with samples and a slideshow. Then we will relax the rules and play with colorful wool, silk scraps and vintage fabric. We will make several pieces in this class and you can choose between using your creations in a wearable cowl/ cuff bracelet/or an art fabric for your wall or table. There will be some limited time spent standing and wet felting but the bulk of the time in this workshop will be spent sitting and stitching.
$250.00 includes a special packet of materials — the workshop will be especially meaningful if you bring some of your own scraps of lightweight (sheer) silk and gauzy cotton fabric and lace in colors that you love. Feel free to bring enough to trade with other class participants. A list of supplies to bring will be sent before the workshop. Also included in this workshop is a light lunch of soup and salad, you are welcome to bring something to share if you wish. When possible, the workshop will include a stretching session of Pilates or Yoga geared to the needs of stitchers.
